Let’s go camping and throw a bonfire party… ON THE WILD GREAT WALL!!! This trip is all about awesome hiking on the coolest part of the Great Wall. We will be setting up camp there for the night under the stars, having the most original BBQ and bonfire party in the world, seeing Mao in Tiananmen Square, amazing Beijing Hutongs, and more!!!

Day 1 – May 1

09:30 – Say “hello” to Mao at his mausoleum
10:30 – Set out for the awesome Great Wall of China
13:30 – Picnic
14:30 – Start our Great Wall Trek
16:00 – Arrive at our campsite and set up
16:30 – Continue our wild Great Wall Trek
18:00 – Watch the sunset on the Wall and gaze the night sky
18:30 – Great Wall party starts!! with Music, BBQ, and drinks!!
Day 3 – May 3
05:00 – Get up and see the awesome sunrise(optional)
07:00 – Western breakfast on the Wall
08:00 – Pack up our tents and hike back to our guesthouse for a shower (optional:20 RMB per person)
10:00 – Hop on the bus and make our way back to Beijing
12:00 – Beijing specialty lunch, including the famous Beijing Duck and other delicacies (veggie friendly too!!!)
13:00 – Visit an ancient Hutong (typical Beijing-style neighborhood)
14:00 – Head over to the train station to catch our train
15:50 – Train back to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway station

Included – 1 night camping in tents (double occupancy) + sleeping bags on the Great Wall. Price is based on double occupancy tents. These will be booked on a first-come-first-served basis. If you wish to sleep alone, the single occupancy fee is an extra 300 RMB per person total. Please note that single occupancy availability may be limited. (If needed, we can help you find someone to share. Pairings, in this case, are distributed in order of request submission. As restrictions are gradually being lifted, we have opened this trip up for registration. Interprovincial travel has not yet been approved by the government, but we expect it to open up shortly.
If the trip is canceled due to virus restrictions, we will provide a full refund.
Currently the protocol is as follows:
Please make sure that you are in good health (no symptoms) before and on the departure date. We will be checking temperatures and city health QR codes (it must be green) prior to boarding the bus. Masks must be worn on the bus at all times.
Please bring a mask and your passport/ 身份证.
If you have recently returned from abroad/another city, please contact us prior to signing up. You will need to have spent at least 14 days in the city and be in good health.

We do not go cheap on safety… We get the best equipment and the most experienced instructors for our trips.

What is the minimum age for this trip? Can kids join?
9+ depending on the fitness level and hiking experience of the child. The trek is not an easy one and is quite steep at certain points. Safety is our priority; please contact us if you have any questions
What is the hiking level?
Medium (at certain points the trek is a bit steep- during the first part of the hike in the forest, and later when we climb the wall). That said beginners have conquered this trek and it’s definitely worth it! If you have any questions please contact us!
