Highlights
Tianmushan Mountain, located in Lin’an County 83.2 km west of Hangzhou, is comprised of two peaks: West Tianmu (elevation at 1,506m) and East Tianmu (elevation at 1,480m). Tianmushan is said to be formed over 150 million years ago and its landform represents the typical example of ancient glacier relics in Eastern China.
It is famous for giant Japanese cedars, waterfalls, Tianmu tea, peaks surrounded by clouds, bamboo shoots, temples and nunneries, and odd-shaped rocks. The rich vegetation includes more than 2,000 species of plants and attracts hundreds of species of birds and animals, including 39 endangered or protected species.
Tianmushan is a national level nature reserve and is listed as part of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Program.
In this trip we will hike to the peak in West Tianmu along the trail and we can enjoy the beautiful snow or rime views if we are lucky!
