This is your chance to explore the famous Zhangjiajie Scenic Area aka the Avatar Mountains!!!… Check out the classic rock formations, walk along a path made of glass, cross that glass bridge you’ve seen in everyone’s pics, visit an ancient town, and more! This is an awesome China experience!
Day 1 – May 1
14:00 – Plane takes off for Zhangjiajie
16:30 – Arrive in Zhangjiajie and head over to our hotel near the attractions (~45 min ride)
Afternoon free to rest, explore, and grab some food
Dinner on your own (We’ll help you find a place.)
Day 2 – May 2
08:00 – Grab breakfast at the hotel and check out before starting out on our Zhangjiajie adventure
09:00 – Head over to see Tianmenshan Scenic Spot (10 min drive)
09:30 – Ride the world’s longest passenger cablecar up to the top of the mountain and check out the views, have some fun while following the glass path
13:30 – Local Specialty Lunch
14:30 – Hop on the bus to Jinbianxi (Golden Whip Brook) for a walk through some beautiful nature scenes
17:30 – Local Specialty Dinner
19:00 – Arrive at our hotel for the next 2 nights and check-in
Schedule may vary. Entrance tickets to Tianmenshan park are generated at random by a computer and must be reserved 6 days in advance.
Day 3 – May 3
08:00 – Breakfast at the hotel
09:00 – Head over to UNESCO heritage Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (the site of the Avatars)
09:10 – Board the mountainside elevator up to the Yuanjiajie scenic spot and take in the sights
12:00 – Lunch at Yuanjiajie (the only restaurant on the mountain)
13:00 – Head over to the Yangjiajie scenic area and take it all in
15:00 – Hop back on the elevator back down and head over to Shili (10 mile) Gallery, short easy walk around the area (If you have trouble hiking there is a shuttle train available)
18:00 – Local Specialty Dinner
Optional: Xiangxi folk song, dance, and bonfire show (168rmb – General seating, 1.5 hr)
Day 3 – May 4
08:00 – Breakfast at the hotel
09:00 – Hop on the bus and head over to Furong ancient town 芙蓉镇 (~2hr) – Originally called Wangcun, Furong town is over 2000 years old and was renamed “Hibiscus Town” in 2007 after a movie filmed there in 1987. This cliffside town is home to the Tujia minority, its original inhabitants, as well as Han. (Wikipedia)
11:00 – Local specialty lunch
12:00 – Check out the town
15:00 – Head to the airport to catch our flight back and have dinner at the airport
19:15 – Catch our flights back home

Please make sure that you are in good health (no symptoms) before and on the departure date. We will be checking temperatures and city health QR codes (it must be green) prior to boarding the bus. Masks must be worn at all times.

If you have recently returned from abroad/traveling from another city (not Shanghai), please let us know prior to signing up.
