This trip is all about taking an insane trek up through the sacred mountains in the highlands of Tibetan Sichuan. We are heading to the Minya Konka trail for some spectacular views, awesome nature, camping under the stars, visit a Tibetan Buddhist temple, local villages, and more!!!

Day 1 - Sunday – October 1
Meet up at our hotel in Chengdu
Spend the day chilling out and getting ready for our awesome trek

Day 2 - Monday - October 2
Chengdu → Kangding [Altitude : 2970 m] → Lao Yulin [Altitude : 3200 m] [332.3 km ~ 8 hours]
Hop on the bus to Kangding with incredible views of the Sichuan countryside
Local specialty dinner in Kangding
Head over to Lao Yulin
Accommodation : Lao Yulin Inn
Day 3 - Tuesday - October 3
Lao Yulin [Altitude : 3200 m] → Gexi Grassland [Altitude : 3400 m] → Forked River [Altitude: 3780 m] → Lower Riwuqie [Altitude: 4000 m] → Upper Riwuqie [Altitude: 4100 m] [trekking - 20 km]
Set out by car to the starting point of our trek (~8km)
Begin our awesome trek through amazing scenery - grasslands, along snow capped mountains, rivers and more [20 km, 8-10 h]
Accommodation : Camping under the stars
Meals: Breakfast, Campsite dinner
Day 4 - Wednesday - October 4
Campsite → Riwuqie Pass [Altitude : 4950 m] → Moxi Campsite [Altitude : 4100 m] [10 km ~ 6-7 hours]
Start out on the toughest part of our trek up to the peak, though glaciers, alpine lakes, and stunning views
Head back down the mountain towards our riverside camp
Accommodation : Camping under the stars
Meals: Campsite breakfast, lunch, & dinner
note : Horses are available at a cost for those who require help walking up the mountain (booked onsite)
Day 5 - Thursday - October 5
Moxi Campsite [Altitude : 4100 m] → Winter Ranch Campsite [Altitude : 3270 m] [12 km ~ 6-7 hours]
Today we take on the easiest part of the trek across highland forests, mountains and rivers, enjoying the relaxing scenery
Arrive at our campsite at about 4 pm

Day 6 - Friday - October 6
Winter Ranch Campsite [Altitude : 3270 m] → Gongga Temple [Altitude : 3750 m] → Shangzimei Village [Altitude : 3500 m] [14 km ~ 6-7 hours]
Trek down and across highland forests to Gongga temple, a traditional Tibetan Buddhist monastery, with views of Minya Konka (Gongga Mountain)
Head to our destination - Shangzimei Village
Accommodation : Shangzimei Inn
Meals: Campsite breakfast, Local specialty dinner
Day 7 - Saturday - October 7
Shangzimei Village [Altitude : 3500 m] → Zimei Pass [Altitude : 4650 m] → Kangding [Altitude : 2970 m] → Chengdu [550 km ~ 10 hours]
Early wake up to catch the sunrise over the mountains
Hop in our cars to head over to Zimei Pass for the best views of Minya Konka in the area
Arrive in Kangding by noon
Tibetan feast for lunch
Head back to Chengdu
Dinner in the evening to celebrate!

Day 8 - Sunday - October 8
Free day to explore Chengdu
Catch our flight home

Not Included - 4 nights - Clean double/multiple occupancy rooms in local guesthouses. These will be booked on a first come first serve basis. The accommodation fee will be split among the members in the group paid onsite. If you wish to room alone, please let us know prior to departure so that we can arrange for it, first come first serve. Price will be confirmed and paid onsite. (We can help you find someone to share if needed. However, if there is an uneven number of travelers, the single occupancy fee may apply. Pairings are distributed on a first come first serve basis.)
Bring your own tent/sleeping bag, or rent them: Tent 200 RMB per person. Sleeping bags & mat are also available to rent for 150 RMB per person. (Please note that you will be required to transport the tent/sleeping bag/mat to Chengdu. )

What you need to bring:
Passport,camera/gopro, 60L backpack, small daypack (20-25L), tent, sleeping bag, mat, hiking shoes, trekking sticks, gaiters, snow goggles, waterproof gloves, coolmax socks, winter hats,fleece scarf,winter jacket and pants, fleece, quick dry clothes, sleeping bag liner, 1L vacuum cup, sunscreen, chapstick, sunglasses, headlamp, outdoor tableware (ex- chopsticks, fork, lunch box etc), mobile power pack, toiletries, flip-flops ,altitude sickness medicine, personal medicine, power snacks (such as chocolates, instant noodles). You can buy many of these items in Decathlon.
You can rent the following equipment for a fee:
Backpack rental - 80 RMB
Headlight rental - 30 RMB
Trekking pole rental - 20 RMB/stick, 40 RMB/pair

I’ve never been high altitude trekking before! Can I still do the trip?
Yes! There is no need for prior camping or high altitude trekking experience to go on this trip. This trip is suitable for those with basic outdoor trekking experience and physical strength/health.
What sort of preparation should I do for this trip?
Physical exercise is necessary for this trip starting 1 month before departure. Due to the high altitude, please begin taking altitude medication ½ month prior to departure.
